News Press Gazette is Hiring an Engineering Assistant Near Salinas, CA
NPG of Monterey-Salinas, CA LLC., is a group of television stations that includes CBS, Telemundo, and FOX affiliates located in Salinas. We are looking for a full-time engineering assistant.
Working under the direction of the Chief Engineer, position duties include: the installation and maintenance of all broadcast equipment, broadcast systems, troubleshooting and repairing the station's automation systems, broadcast servers, HD/SD video encoders, HD/SD video multiplexers, video and audio processing frames/cards, NPG's MediaFlow, other digital video processors/servers.
Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist in TV Studio equipment maintenance, repair and installation
- Assist in TV RF Plant equipment maintenance, repair and installation
- Assist in Broadcast field gear maintenance and repair (cameras, microphones, tripods, fleet vehicle, and other equipment).
- Building maintenance knowledge
- Other duties assigned by management
Candidates should possess a HS diploma, two-years' experience in broadcast, cable, RF or IT environment, as well as good troubleshooting and problem solving skills. A degree in computer and/or electrical engineering, and A , ACMT, CTO, CBT, CBTE, or CBNE certifications although preferred, are not required. The ability to work constructively under pressure and handle numerous time sensitive issues daily is imperative for success.
Pay Range: $15.50-$16.70 per hour. Based on experience.
